Privacy Policy — Message to Whats

This policy explains how the Chrome extension Message to Whats ("the Extension") handles data. The Extension is developed by Rodrigo Antunes, Lisbon, Portugal — contact: rodrigoka4@gmail.com.

In short: the Extension does not collect, store on any server, sell or share any personal data.

1. What the Extension does

You choose a country, type a phone number and, optionally, a message. When you click "Send on WhatsApp", the Extension opens https://web.whatsapp.com/send with that number and text in your browser tab. Sending the message is done by you, inside WhatsApp Web.

2. Data stored on your device

• Draft: the selected country, the phone number and the message you are typing, so they are not lost when the panel is closed;
• Preferences: the chosen language and the "open in a new tab" option.

This information is kept only in your browser using chrome.storage.local. It never leaves your device through the Extension and is not synced to any server. You can erase it with the "Clear" button or by removing the Extension.

3. Data we do not collect

No analytics, no tracking, no cookies, no ads, no accounts. The Extension does not read the pages you visit, your browsing history, your contacts, or your WhatsApp conversations, and it does not load remote code.

4. Permissions

• sidePanel — to show the Extension in Chrome's side panel, so it stays open while you browse;
• storage — to save the draft and preferences locally, as described above.

5. Third parties

When you open a chat, the phone number and message are sent to WhatsApp (WhatsApp LLC / Meta) as part of the WhatsApp Web address, which is handled under WhatsApp's privacy policy. The Extension is not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta.

6. Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

The use of information by the Extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

7. Children

The Extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from them.
