Privacy Policy — BibleTrend

Last updated: October 21, 2026

This policy explains what data the app BibleTrend ("the App") uses, in its versions for Android (BibleTrend, free with ads, package com.antunescode.bible, and BibleTrend Pro, without ads, package com.antunescode.biblepro) and in the browser. The data controller is Rodrigo Antunes, Lisbon, Portugal — contact: rodrigoka4@gmail.com.

1. Using the App without an account

You can read the whole Bible, browse the verse feed and share verses without an account. In that case the App only keeps, on your own device, your language, theme and text size, your reading plan and daily goal, and where you stopped reading. Nothing is sent to our servers.

2. Signing in with Google

Saving verses, notes and highlights, marking chapters as read, keeping your streak and joining the weekly ranking require signing in with your Google account. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication. When you sign in we receive your name, e-mail address, profile photo address and a user ID from Google. We use them only to identify your account and to greet you in the App. We never receive your Google password.

3. Data saved in your account

  • Your progress (stored in Google Cloud Firestore): chapters marked as read and the date, reading days and streak, saved verses and your topics, your notes, highlight colors, reading plan, daily goal, points (XP), the nickname you choose and your avatar emoji. This is private: only you can read it, so you get it back on another phone.
  • Weekly ranking: your nickname, avatar emoji, chapters read this week, streak and total chapters. This is visible to other signed-in users of the App. Your name and e-mail from Google are not shown in the ranking — only the nickname you choose in the "Me" tab (by default, your first name).

The App has no analytics and no tracking by us. We do not collect your location, contacts, microphone, camera or files. When you tap "Send", the verse text is handed to WhatsApp (or another app you choose); we do not see what you share or with whom.

4. Ads (free version only)

The free Android app shows a banner at the bottom of the screen and, from time to time, a full-screen ad between chapters or verses, served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and app information and ad interactions, under the Google advertising policy. In the European Economic Area, the UK and other places where the law requires it, the App asks for your consent (Google's consent form) before personalized ads. You can reset or opt out of the advertising ID in your Android settings. BibleTrend Pro has no ads and no AdMob code.

5. Who processes the data

Account, progress and ranking data are stored by Google (Firebase, Google Cloud), which acts as our processor, on Google servers that may be located outside your country, under the Firebase privacy and security terms. We never sell or rent your data and do not share it with anyone else.

6. Why we use it (legal basis)

To provide the features you ask for when you create an account (saving, reading marks, ranking, cloud backup) — the performance of our agreement with you; and, for personalized ads, your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

7. Retention, deleting your account and your rights

Your data is kept while your account exists. Ranking entries are grouped by week. You can delete your account at any time inside the App: "Me" → "Delete my account". This permanently deletes your progress, notes, topics, ranking entries and your sign-in account. "Sign out" removes your progress from the device but keeps it in your account. You can also ask us by e-mail (rodrigoka4@gmail.com) to access, correct, export or delete your data, even without the App installed. You may complain to your data protection authority (in Portugal, the CNPD).

8. Children

The App is intended for people aged 13 and over (younger users need a parent or guardian's permission, as required by Google accounts and by the law of their country). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Data travels encrypted (HTTPS) and the database only lets each signed-in person read and change their own progress and their own ranking line.

10. Changes

This policy may be updated; the date above shows the latest version.
